Reno Competition General Construction Company is the proud sponsor of the Marine Problem at the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) National Students' Competition in Reno, Nevada. Over 700 students from construction colleges all across the country come to Reno to compete in this prestigious event. About the Competition The primary goal of the competition is to prepare these students for their eventual careers in construction by working through real-life problems and scenarios that they actually might encounter. The Marine Problem challenges the student’s skills in estimating, scheduling, work planning, contract knowledge, time management, communication, and teamwork. The problem will be based on real-life situations for a “hard-money” project.
The sample project will encompass the business functions that are routinely encountered in marine and heavy civil construction.
Colleges from all across the country brought over 700 of their best and brightest students to Reno.
