Project started in 1994
Project completed in 1997
Project Type: Heavy Civil
Owner: Washington Department of Transportation
Location: Everett, WA
Contract Amount: $12.2 Million

The structure is supported on 24 in. diameter cast-in-place concrete piling formed in steel pipe shells. There are six piles per pier, which are on approximately 65 ft centers. A temporary work trestle was required to provide access to construct the majority of this structure. The project also included a similar 13-span bridge, 950 ft long, across Ebey Slough. The foundation for this structure was both cast-in-place concrete piling and drilled shafts. Related work included over 47,000-tons of granular fill, relocating 750 lin ft of a 50 in. water line, 970 cu yd of low density concrete, drainage, roadway surfacing and removal of over one mile of existing bridge structures.
