General Construction was given the opportunity to help modernize and make a airplane manufacturing facility in Everett more environmentally friendly by bringing more natural light into the building. This project included the installation of 25ft x 27ft skylights that are 14ft tall. These were installed over a roof that measures 85 acres. The work was done 85ft above a working production line. The only access was on a 30 inch wide catwalk and all skylight material was craned up to the roof deck. The skylights are composed of a composite plastic and metal frame that sits on top of a tube steel frame on the roof. A total of 26 skylights were installed.
