Project Details Electric Boat Graving Dock 3
January 2005 This project included construction of tied-back concrete retaining walls in front of the existing sheetpile wall. Other work included construction of east and west cast-in-place concrete platforms, elevator installation, walkway and mechanical work. The concrete mix design developed for the project provided low heat of hydration, enabling the concrete to cure without the use of an internal cooling system or pipes. The low heat formula also develops early strength which facilitates quick turnaround of formwork, allowing the project team to meet the demanding work schedule.
