Allen Street Bridge Replacement

Automobile Shredder

Project started in September, 1999 - Project completed in February, 2000
Installation of a state of the art automobile shredder for recycling automobiles into scrap steel.

Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal

Project started in 2005 - Project completed in 2006
General Construction demolished the existing ferry terminal slip and constructed new slip.

Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal Dolphin Replacement Phase II

Project started in 2001 - Project completed in 2002
General Construction replaced of Bainbridge Island ferry terminal dolphins.

Bangor Building 7111 Addition & Service Pier Upgrade

Project started in 2004 - Project completed in 2005
General Construction was responsible for upgrading existing service pier and facility to accommodate a new submarine homeport.

Bangor Fox Island Lab Relocation

Project started in June 2007 - Project completed in January 2008
This project included the construction of a concrete trestle supported by twenty steel piles.

Benicia Segmental Bridge

Project started in 2001 - Project will be completed in August, 2007
Construction of a five lane segmental concrete bridge spanning Carquinez Strait.

Bonneville Dam Juvenile Fish Bypass System Outfalls

Project started in 1998 - Project completed in 1999
Two juvenile fish bypass outfalls in the Columbia River downstream of Bonneville Dam were installed.

Chevron Long Wharf Causeway/Trestle Seismic Upgrade

Project started in 1998 - Project completed in 2000
This project included seismically strengthening the 3,800 ft, two lane concrete causeway as well as replacing a timber pipe trestle that paralleled the existing concrete causeway with a new steel trestle.

Compressed Air Upgrades

Project started in October, 2004 - Project completed in December, 2004
This project included installation of a new 3,000 CFM air compressor.

Continuous Homogenizing Furnace

Project started in June, 1998 - Project completed in December, 1998
The objective of this project was to replace an existing aluminum billet homogenizing system with a state-of-the-art fully automatic continuous homogenizing system.

Crane Upgrade

Project started in 1999 - Project completed in 2003
This program upgraded the overhead bridge cranes in five assembly buildings at customer's Renton plant.

Ebey Slough Phases 4 & 5, Snohomish River Bridge

Project started in 1994 - Project completed in 1997
Over the Snohomish River Delta, General Construction built a 2,700 ft long sectional bridge composed of 39 spans of prestressed concrete girders with a cast-in-place deck.

Electric Boat Graving Docks 1 & 2

Project started in September, 2006 - Project completion expected in April 2008
This project consisted of long term repair of Graving Docks #1 & 2, in which building reinforced and thru-tied concrete walls on the basin and docks occurred.

Everett Factory Realignment

Project started in 2006 - Project completed in 2007
Conversion of 170,000 sq ft of manufacturing space into office facilities.

Factory Seismic Upgrade

Project started in 1997 - Project completed 9/2002
General Construction structurally reinforced client's assembly facility in Everett.

Hamilton Avenue Bascule Bridge Project

Project started in August, 2005 - Scheduled to finish in 2009
This project includes the rehabilitation of the Hamilton Avenue Bascule Bridge over the Gowns Canal in Brooklyn, NY.

Heating System Upgrade

Currently in construction - Scheduled to finish in 2009
General Construction replaced the majority of the mechanical fittings on the existing heating system's carbon steel pipes with welded fittings.

Hood Canal Bridge Retrofit & East Half Replacement

Project started in July, 2003 - Scheduled to finish in 2010
General Construction is replacing the east half of the Hood Canal Bridge and renovating the newer west half of the bridge.

Ice Harbor Navigation Coffer Cells

Project started in 1996 - Project completed in 1997
Spillway deflectors were installed at eight of the Ice Harbor Dam's ten spillways.

John Day Dam Flow Deflectors

Project started in 1996 - Project completed in 1998
General Construction contract was to build 17 pier extensions and 18 flow deflectors 30 ft underwater along the spillway face of the dam.

Keyport Pier Replacement

Project started in 2000 - Project completed in 2002
This design build project consists of a modern pier and new floating structures to accommodate research vessels at the Keyport Undersea Warfare Research Station.

Kingston Ferry Terminal Phase II Dolphin Replacements

Project started in 2001 - Project completed in 2002
General Construction replaced the dolphins at Kingston ferry terminal.

Kingston Outfall

Project started in June, 2004 - Project completed in October 2007
This project required the installation of one mile of 18 in. steel outfall pipe adjacent to the ferry landing in Kingston, WA.

Lake Youngs Intake

Project started in 2002 - Project completed in 2003
This intake pier, for an active drinking water reservoir, required 500-tons of fabricated steel, piles and four piers supporting a pump platform.

Lopez Island Ferry Terminal

Project started August 2006 - Completed December 2007
This project provided for the preservation of the Lopez Ferry Terminal in San Juan County, Washington.

Marine Docking Facility, U.S. Gypsum

Project started in January, 2000 - Project completed in July, 2000
Along the Columbia River in Oregon, General Construction built a concrete wharf and concrete approach trestle.

Midway Sewer District Submarine Outfall

Project started in June 2007 - Project completed in January 2008
This project included the installation of 2,100 ft of 48 in. steel outfall pipe to the diffuser section which runs to a depth of -170 MMLW.

Napkin Packaging Line Installation

Project started in September, 2004 - Project completed in February, 2005
General Construction installed a converting and packaging production line at a paper manufacturing mill.

Navigation and Sediment Dredging, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard

Project started in 2000 - Project completed in 2001
This project was a large scale environmental dredging at Bremerton's Naval Shipyard in Washington.

Neah Bay Pier Coast Guard Pier

Project started in 1999 - Project completed in 2000
This project required the demolition of an existing 650 ft timber pier and construction of a new concrete pier and concrete mooring floats.

Norfolk Sediment Remediation

Project started in January, 1999 - Project completed in April, 1999
This project was part of the Elliot Bay/Duwamish dredging and restoration.

Orleans Outfall Canal Interim Closure Structure

Project started in February, 2006 - Project completed in December, 2006
General Construction was a participating Kiewit district that aided in the construction of an interim gated flood control structure on the canal at Lake Pontchartrain.

Paper Machine Fan Pump Drive

Project started in January, 2005 - Project completed in August, 2005
General Construction replaced three fan pump drives for 600 Hp motors at paper manufacturing facility in Washington.

Pier D Replacement

Project started in 2000 - Project completed in 2003
This design build project consisting of building a 1350 x 150 carrier berthing pier at the Naval Station in Bremerton.

Pierce County Terminal Expansion

Project started in 2002 - Project completed in 2003
This project consisted of dredging and habitat construction at the Pierce County Slip 5 Terminal in Tacoma, WA.

Port of Anchorage Maintenance Dredging

 - Project completed in November, 2002
General Construction did massive maintenance dredging at the Port of Anchorage in Alaska.

Priest Rapids Dam Fish Bypass

Project started in September, 2005 - Project completed in March, 2006
General Construction modified two existing spillways for fish bypass.

Production Line Hydraulic System

Project started mid 2006 - Project completed July 2007
General Construction furnished and installed this system, which supplies hydraulics to the assembly line.

Relocate and Upgrade Tissue Packaging Line

Project started in October, 2005 - Project completed in February, 2006
For this project General Construction moved and upgraded a production line which converts very large rolls of tissue to finished product.

Revelstoke Penstock Project

Project began November 2007 - Expected Completion is November 2008
As a joint venture with Kiewit's Western Canada District, General Construction Company is installing the fifth penstock at Revelstoke Dam in Canada.

San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge E2/T1 Foundation

Currently in construction - Scheduled to finish in 2008
As part of a KFM joint venture, General Construction built two foundations for the main span of the future self anchored suspension span of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge.

San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge, Skyway Segment

Project started in 2002 - Project completion 2007
The $1.2 billion Skyway Bridge project includes the construction of a mile and a half of side-by-side viaduct bridge structures in San Francisco Bay.

Scott Worldwide Cogeneration Project

Project started in 1993 - Project completed in 1995
For this project General Construction built a state-of-the-art cogeneration facility primarily for burning spent sulfite liquid from the pulping process and sawdust from area sawmills.

Shearwater Remediation Project

Project started in March, 2001 - Project completed in September, 2001
General Construction removed a thin layer of contaminated material from a very constricted site under extremely tight environmental controls and replacing it with an engineered cap.

Shilshole Marina

Project started in 1996 - Project completed in 1998
At Shilshole Marina, General Construction demolished an old pier and construction a new 600 lin ft pier.

Skylight Installation Project

Project began in October of 2007 - Projected completion May 2009
This project includes the installation of giant 25 ft x 27 ft skylights in a huge manufacturing facility in Everett.

Stacker Crane Replacement

Project started in April 2007 - Project finished September 2007
This project included the installation of approximately 3,500 lin ft of crane rail.

Substation Replacement & Power System Upgrades

Project started in January, 2004 - Project completed in July, 2004
General Construction was responsible for building a new substation at paper manufacturing facility.

Switchgear Relocation

Project started in 2006 - Project completed in 2007
This project included the relocation of a new primary 15kV distribution system and switchgear.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge

Currently in construction - Scheduled to finish in 2007
General Construction Company is part of the team constructing a 5,200 ft suspension bridge adjacent to the existing bridge in Tacoma, WA.

Terminal 115, Port of Seattle

Project began October 2006 - Project completed April 2008
General Construction reconstructed and upgraded one of the largest break bulk barge facility in the Western Hemisphere.

Terminal 3 & 4, Port of Tacoma

Project started in January, 2005 - Project completed in March, 2006
This project included the construction of a 250 lin ft concrete wharf at the Port of Tacoma.

Terminal 30 Upgrade, Port of Seattle

Project started October 2007 - Projected completion date June 2009
The 43-acre Terminal 30 Upgrade project includes relocation of the Cruise Ship operation, and returning the terminal to its original function as a container terminal.

Terminal 55/56, Port of Oakland

Project started in 1999 - Project completed in 2001
This project included the demolishing of existing concrete piers, hydraulic dredging and construction of a new wharf.

Terminal 91 Berth M Reconstruction, Port of Seattle

Project began October 2007 - Expected completion date is May 2008
This project includes the demolition of the old timber apron and supporting piles and construction of a new dock supported with concrete and sheet piles.

Tissue Machine Rebuild

Project started in November, 2005 - Project completed in January, 2006
General Construction replaced and relocated paper rolls, the drying air system, two 9 MM BTU burners and a Smartfire control system.

Tissue Paper Machine 3 Rebuild

 - Project completed in 1997
This project included the installation of a new head box, Yankee dryer hood with burners and gas train, drives, vacuum system, pumps, piping, pressure screen, showers and control system.

Todd Shipyard Sediment Remediation Project

Project started in 2004 - Project completed in 2005
General Construction dredged 203,000 cu yd of contaminated sediment that was then trans-loaded into railcars for upland disposal.

Wanapum Dam Fish Bypass

Currently in construction - Scheduled to finish in 2008
General Construction is in the process of constructing a new fish bypass spillway at Wanapum Dam, located on the Columbia River near Vantage, WA.

Yaquina North Jetty Rock Removal

Project started in July, 1999 - Project completed in September, 1999
General Construction rebuilt the Yaquina North Jetty in Oregon.
